How to embed Flash SWF file to Microsoft Frontpage 2003?

This tutorial will show you how to insert a photo flash slideshow into Microsoft Frontpage 2003. This tutorial applies to the SWF files created by Flash Slideshow Maker under the "Basic" theme tab only. If you create slideshow under the "Advanced" theme tab, you can refer to How to embed XML driven flash slideshow into Microsoft Frontpage 2003.

 

Flash Slideshow Maker supports both embedded mode and XML driven mode, the former merges your photos and background music into a single flash file. To enter the embedded mode to create photo slideshow, you can choose "Basic" under the "Theme" tab.

 

 

Steps to insert a Flash Slideshow into Microsoft Frontpage 2003

 

1. Create your slideshow with a basic theme using Flash Slideshow Maker. Copy or save the output SWF file to your website directory.

2. Run Microsoft Frontpage 2003, open an existing web page or create a new one.

3. Click on the position where you want to insert the animation.

4. Go to Insert --> Picture --> Movie in Flash Format.

5. Browse to the SWF flash file, select it and click on "Insert" button.

6. Save the page and preview.

2. You can optionally change flash slideshow properties, right click on the SWF file and select 'Movie in Flash Format Properties', you will find two tabs. The 'Appearance' tab will allow you to change the size, transparency, background colors and quality of the movie,etc. The 'General' properties tab lets you specify preference like loop, auto play, player menu,etc.
